Can a teenager, without any professional or management training become the CEO of a successful company with clientele in India and US, UK, Israel and UAE? Yes, it is possible.

Meet Laksh Bucha, all of 17 years, yes, you read it write, teenager and a minor, is the CEO of Growthxo, which delivers brand solutions to several clients in India and overseas.

A Kolkata based startup, Growthxo, is a two years old organisation which started off as a dream project of Bucha, who is otherwise a digital marketing ninja. His journey of starting off a multi-crore business in his teens is indeed a very inspiring one.

A teenpreneur Laksh Bucha is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Growthxo, a modern brand management company. Laksh started Growthxo in 2016 with an aim of sketching out new dimensions in the communications realm through technological disruptions. 

A people's person, Laksh has always been interested and intrigued to go beyond what eyes meet. This attitude has helped him in his entrepreneurial journey to understand the complex equations of each business and its problem solving strategies.

With Growthxo, Laksh holds a unique vision - to be able to play a crucial role in awareness & knowledge creation about how powerful communications and Digital Marketing can be to scale up any business – small or big. He believes this goal is beyond just building brands and fostering clients for life.

An out-of-the-box thinker, Laksh started his entrepreneurial journey when he was 13, much before laying the foundation of Growthxo. He terms this period as his 'MBA' degree. From a series of failures and success, Laksh learnt his way to a successful entrepreneur all by himself!

A visionary, Laksh is set to hit the multimillion clubs and wants to make Growthxo a conglomerate group. In his early twenties, Laksh Bucha is one of the most inspiring entrepreneurs who can be found in the mountains driving his self-earned Benz, when not at work.

SME WORLD in an interaction with Laksh Bucha:

What and who inspired you to take to entrepreneurship and launch Growthxo?

Growing up in a Marwari household, one cannot run very far from business. They say, business un in our veins. Well that's true in my case for my interest in starting up as an entrepreneur came in my early teens when I was just 14.  

I have always been a very eager learner and I strongly believe in listening and imbibing. I guess this personality trait proved to be my strength in building various businesses. I have hypothetically done my 'MBA' seeing and learning from the experiences and business discussions between the family members.

From a YouTuber to a Domain Investor to Digital Marketer, Digital Ads Expert and a Communications Professional, I have learnt everything only through experience.

My larger objective is to create awareness and offer services on how tech can successfully transform and grow each business – small or big, making India stronger. What could have been better than COMMUNICATIONS to do this and hence I'm here today, working with an immensely powerful team of communication professionals at GROWTHXO

How do you feel being called a serial Teenpreneur?

I never really planned to be a teen entrepreneur until I started realizing my potential and capabilities with which I was not just monetary successful but could see the difference I was able to create for my clients through services and products that proved to be valuable and worthwhile for them. That drove me to do more and trust my instincts to follow what I could envision.

Today, when I look back to see my journey of being a teenager to a serial Teenpreneur, it encourages me to do more. I won't deny that I don't feel elated or ethereal to be working with highly skilled professionals double my age and even than being able to add some valuable insights to their strategies. I am very thankful for everything I've been blessed with, touchwood.  

When most at your age are yet in their learning process and are planning their careers; what was in your mind while thinking about Growthxo?

Well, Growthxo is my concept project with which I plan to bring many innovative revolutionary products in the communications industry. I have been closely working with my core PR team headed by dynamic industry professional Rashi Agarwal on it and we will soon launch some amazing stuff which is set to break the monotony.

Don't you think you have broken the rules or the barriers?

Well, I do agree with this. We have seen a wave of young entrepreneurs building great products. We are in the times when 8 years old are becoming google certified coders and fit to be in the profession, so the definition of age barrier or any limitation has faded away completely.

How do you define 'success' in a venture?

Success to me means – to be able to make a positive difference, largely it is but an Emotion. It could be in terms of favourable outcomes, attainment of wealth, power, fame, and education, accomplishment of one's dreams, a successful project or a sense of belonging.

I believe that when one is able to create a positive impact and make a difference in what they do, the positivity in the form of happiness and satisfaction that comes along, indeed explains the emotion that success really is.

How your clients from across the world react on learning that you are a teenager?

I have been working with clients spread across India, US, UK, Israel and UAE markets and they really don't judge me for my age. Instead there have been several instances where my age has proven to be a strong point for business conversion. Today, people believe in young minds and their capabilities to think beyond imagination and make it true. I have seen my clients investing in my strategies for them and I have never let them down. At Growthxo, we have 100% client satisfaction record

How do you feel when you interact with the stalwarts of industry?

I have till now been a silent player and I do not like to blow a trumpet. As such, my interaction with the industry leaders has been very limited. However, I will be ecstatic to meet some people who inspired me during my journey – the top being MrMukeshAmbani, Anand Mahindra and Ratan Tata.

What is your vision for Growthxo? What is the next level in the growth trajectory?

Growthxo is a new-age multi specialist and a modern brand management company which aims at unlocking a brands potential in the era of digitalization.

We are coming up with a lot of exciting stuff straight from our PR Board and in a longer vision, we are developing our Growth umbrella with a dominating group of products covering the Digital, Marketing and Advertising, Public Relations and Communications, Social, Development (IT), Fintech, LegalTech, and Human Resources sectors. And we'd love to keep our plans as granny's recipe for now.  

How have you planned your academic career; how do you manage it in the face of your business?

To be very honest, I rarely open my books. (laughs)

Well, my parents make sure that I keep a balance between the two

What is your message/advice to the career-conscious youngsters on planning and execution of their ideas?

Just mark three things - Patience, smart working and risk taking. Be a hustler!

With poor job scenario everywhere, what is your suggestion to the youngsters on taking up entrepreneurship?

As easy as it may sound but entrepreneurship is not a title but a commitment to oneself. It is a self made journey where your competition is with yourself.

Finding which mutant are you? What do you do the best? What services are you meant for? What do you see differently? Why you want to do it? To conclude it, in short, Entrepreneurship is a beautiful journey of winning, loosing, laughing, crying, yet not leaving.

So choose very wisely and keep fighting for what is meant for you, will find you
