Automating Education - APPLANE
Yogesh Agarwal
November, 2014

India's higher education system is one of the fastest growing sector in India. It is also one of the largest education systems on the world. According to India's 12th national five year plan (2012-17), the education system will attract a significant amount investment from the government improve the quality of higher education and skills development. A substantial amount would be invested to leverage the use of technology in the education sector.

As per a research conducted by Forrester, about 80 percent of educational institutions in India are facing tough times to address the rising expectations of students and parents. To address this, about 82 percent of them are looking forward to improving the quality of their educational process and execution. This marks the vital transition needed in the process of how institutions transmit education to the students and the ecosystem they provide to the stakeholders.

Applane was set up on 24th May 2012 with a vision of helping educational institutions increase their efficiency and performance through seamless process automation and control. Though Indian companies have made their mark as first rate IT service providers, not many Indian IT products exist that have made it big in the international market. This urged us to step into the product space with a Cloud ERP. Applane is a one of a kind Education ERP and is not inspired from western concepts.

There exist many activities and processes that schools invest a lot of time and resources in. Without automation software, these activities were repeated every year/quarter and following that need to be reviewed for accuracy. Applane automates all such activities and drive efficiencies higher by allowing the schools to divert the resources previously being wasted on repetitive, mundane activities like time-table generation, fee collection, student information management and result generation to name a few. Applane benefits not just the school administration but also, the teachers, students and parents by allowing them anytime anywhere access to their respective tasks. As a cloud based ERP, Applane is highly scalable amid large and medium sized organizations.
